Welcome to Muddy Creek Pottery. My name is Kathryn Basso.

All of my pottery is entirely hand-built, shaped with care using traditional coil and slab techniques that celebrate the tactile beauty of clay. From functional stoneware to sculptural pieces, each work reflects a deep respect for the material and the process. I fire using a range of methods including classic electric kiln firing for consistent, reliable results, as well as the unpredictable magic of Raku with its dramatic flashing and crackle glazes, and the ancient intensity of wood firing that leaves every piece uniquely marked by flame, ash, and the natural elements of the kiln.
